Essendon Fields plays a vital role in providing Victoria's Emergency Services with a safe and secure hub and looks forward to seeing this position bolstered in years to come.

A recent announcement from the Department of Treasury and Finance has referenced the addition of three new helicopters and a fixed wing plane planned for Victoria Police’s Air Wing by 2020.

Essendon Fields CEO Chris Cowan said: "We're committed to ensuring Victoria's Emergency Services have the space to grow and in turn service the needs of the community. We look forward to welcoming the new aircraft and working with relevant officials to make this happen."

This announcement comes after The Andrews Labor Government stated that it’s putting more than 3,100 extra police officers on the streets and giving them the resources, equipment and support they need to keep Victorians safe.

The Victorian Budget 2017/18 provides an historic $2 billion boost for police, the biggest ever investment in the history of Victoria Police since they opened their first depot in 1853. To read more visit: Department of Treasury and Finance
