FAQ

Question
What is the largest aircraft type that can operate at Essendon Airport?
Answer
As part of the curfew conditions Essendon Airport is not permitted to accept aircraft which have a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 45,000kg or more. This excludes most of the aircraft used by major Australian Airlines. The largest aircraft currently operating on a reasonably regular basis from Essendon Airport is the Bombardier Global Express XRS (44,500kg) and Fokker 100 (44,000kg). The majority of aircraft movements are for aircraft weighing less than 5,000kg.
