Aviation is a rewarding career which can take you around the world.

Occupations within aviation industry include: pilot, cabin steward, trade roles (airframe or engine mechanic, radio technician, avionics technician), engineer (aeronautical, civil / structural, mechanical), aircraft ground handler, aerodrome manager, airport planner, security officer, customs officer, immigration officer, police officer, airport fire fighter, aerodrome inspector, aerodrome reporting officer, aircraft refueller, or air traffic controller.

There are many ways to enter aviation these include joining the military, private enterprise (airlines or aircraft maintenance firms), through university or via a hands on approach through a flying school.

CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) provides a good overview of what is required to become a pilot.

Aerodrome Managers tend to obtain their training by operating a rural aerodrome owned by a Local Council and then moving to a larger aerodrome.

A number of Australian Universities offer undergraduate and post graduate qualifications in aviation management
